After the Warriors beat the Suns, 117-107, on Friday night, Cousins was asked about how Durant was being treated by the media, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
“It’s a credit to his mental toughness. I don’t think he gets enough credit for how much [expletive] he deals with on the daily. I mean its his personal life. He’s probably top two or top three guys in the league being harrased or dealing with the media. Maube Lebron or Steph. It’s a tough life always having a cameria in your face. It’s obviouis how much he gets attacked on social media…”
The New York Knicks, last week, traded their budding star in Kristaps Porzingis to clear cap space for two max free agents. Since that deal, everyone has been asking Durant what his next move might be. He’s a free agent this offseason and could go build a super team with the likes of Kyrie Irving.
However, Durant seems very bothered by it all. He told media members the other day to “grow up.”
Unfortunately for Durant, his status as an NBA superstar and the potential ramifications of his free agency decision won’t be going away anytime soon no matter how hard he tries to push back.
